Hello DP! After many failed "projects" and no success in the past, I think I've learned alot since and I think I may be onto something. I've read a fair bit here and learned alot. My question is: Do I manually submit my site to search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN or wait and let them pick my site up? As for my plans: I hope to write 20 small-medium sized articles every day and I'm hoping Google will be the main traffic source once the pages are indexed. Thanks for the help.
You can manually submit, but with many backlinks the articles will be indexed automatically. Also a good option is making a sitemap so google will easilly index your pages...
i used manual submit and backlinks. Im sitting on 40 some pages indexed in a couple weeks. My site isn't really big, thats about all my pages. Altho more are being added and G is picking them up pretty quickly. I have't done the site map yet. EDIT: changed number of pages indexed. its much higher than i thought.
yes Google indexes only on back links and they cannot index your site individually I thinking adding your articles URLS in your signatures help you alot as Google indexes digitalpoint every hour I think so
I think best way is to create the sitemap and submit it to google first. and then proceed with directory submission and link exchange.
I, for one, never submit my website to search engines, I let them pick the content up by themselves. As little as a post from a decent blog can be enough to get your page indexed. F1RM
hi, would like to share $0.02 of wat i been learned. major search engine: manual submit. remaining SE: software submit also directory submission. dont forget links.
I would say let them pick your site on there own and for this you need to get some backlinks / spread the link to your site and it will be helpfull in getting indexed .
