    Mansanto Threat

What do you know? A corporation threatening to sue an entire state for labeling what's actually in certain foods. Nah, it's better to hide what's in it with fancy sounding scientific names or better yet, just leave certain ingredients or facts out entirely. This company is scum to me. I'm sure many large companies do certain shady and unethical things at times, but there's so much dirt building on this company of late, that a bath couldn't wash it all off. What's your opinion on this?

I like the 4th article about the Bill Gates Foundation investing in Monsanto. Seems counter intuitive to me.

I wonder if this is something that could be handled by the market? I'm not sure how accurate these statistics are. But, I've read only about 30% of Americans are that aware of genetically engineered food, and 93% that are, don't want it in their diet. Assuming those statistics are fairly accurate, it seems like raising public awareness might help. This is an opportunity for food companies that are non-GMO. It would probably benefit them to be more aggressive in their public education marketing campaign.

In other words, if genetically engineered food was so unpopular, it would be squeezed out of the market. Not necessarily by the government forcing certain companies to label the products, against the companies best financial interest. But by raising public awareness, and even knowing what foods are most frequently modified, and then, non-GMO labels. The path of least resistance. Consumers would naturally choose the product with the non-GMO label. The non-GMO label is voluntary, but when a company realizes the demand from consumers, they would tend to go in that direction out of self-interest (making money).

    On a side note:

I found this free booklet >> Non-GMO Shopping Guide

Just trying to think of other scenarios besides the government making more laws and regulations. :)
