Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto Update

Pacquiao had won his seventh title in seven weight divisions, a first in boxing history. Cotto exited the MGM Grand Garden Arena with white shorts long stained red. His wife and son had left their seats three rounds earlier, so bloody was the beating.

But is it time for him to retire now because of the injury he sustained from the hard hits of Cotto?

We all know that he is now US$13 Million richer plus the pay-per-view share. He is now the greatest fighter in the boxing history. Indeed, his feat is unprecedented by becoming the only 7-time world champion in 7 different weight divisions. But will he go up in weight division to go for his 8th division title?

It was a great fight. I wanted Manny Pacquiao to win. He fights with his heart and his story is such an inspiration!

I have to admit I admire Mayweather's boxing skills. I expect a Pacquiao v Mayweather. I think I'm going to watch this fight live. It's one of those moments in the history of box that I don't want to miss.

*Frowns on the masked URL* (they don't allow shorturls/masked links/redirects here) :)

Anyhow, I kind of expected Manny to win (but it was hard not to, I mean nowadays I think everyone just expects him to win anything - tug of war, spelling bee, who cares? he's gonna win. LOL)

Manny Pacquiao will not be hindered to fight Mayweather Jr. by retirement but by politics because he has decided to run in May 10 National Elections for public office. Is it good for him to go into politics?

    Here's the news:

Here’s one bad news for diehard fans of Manny Pacquiao, the fighter. Promoter Bob Arum, in an overseas call on Wednesday, said politics may get in the way when it comes to seeing Pacquiao back in the ring at least within the first half of next year.

Arum said he plans to talk with Pacquiao before the Filipino superstar leaves for home today from Los Angeles and propose a possible outing in late April which will only be a few days before the May 10 national and local elections.

“That’s too bad. Politics is up to him. As his promoter all I can tell him is we can do this fight and he can make a lot of money but we have to do it between the end of April or beginning of May. I can’t do a March fight,” said Arum “Manny has to take that into account. Maybe he doesn’t run, or decides to run on the party list, I don’t know. But what’s the hurry? He’s a young man. He can run three years from now.”

Yup, he's planning to be a politician now, & nobody really likes it here (in the Philippines), but by golly, that's Manny the Pacman - (please refer to my previous post) of course he's gonna win. :)
