Hatton began the fight in reckless fashion and was far too open with Pacquiao catching the 30-year-old at will.

The British fighter stood toe-to-toe with Pacquiao and was floored with a fierce right hook two minutes into the first round.

Pacquiao closed in on victory and floored Hatton again with the bell only saving him from the humiliation of a first-round knockout.

Hatton looked dazed as the second-round began but then looked to have cleared his head and caught Pacquiao with a decent right.

But with just seconds remaining in the round, a brutal left hook floored Hatton and the fight was over.

Victory for Pacquiao opened up the possibility of a clash with Floyd Mayweather Jr who is newly out of retirement while for Hatton question marks surround his future in the sport.
