Manipulating PR voting power using Javascript.

Would it be possible to javascript all of the links on a page except one that would be used for voting PR to another? For the site navigation buttons, all of the meshed internal links could be bot-unfriendly java links except for the link to the homepage, which would be html. This would vote all of each internal page's PR voting value to the homepage divided by 1, rather than 20+.

Is this a no-no as far as Google is concerned?

Just a thought. I'm fairly new to this BTW.

Smart thinking... focusing the internal distribution of pr to your homepage. But you would need to get external links to these internal pages as they would be pr0 if you don't give them any juice yourself internally.

If you are new, don't worry too much about shortcuts... just put in the work. Worry about fancy stuff when you have a PR7 and are ranked #10 and can't make further progress.

Many others have used the method you mentioned to "Channel" pagerank. In fact, here is a SEO tutorial on the subject.

With that said, I am told this method is no longer effective. I believe it has to do with Google's ability to parse Javascript.

Google are getting smarter with regard PR trapping. Like Dominic said, Just get on with the hard graft, and stop trying to shortcut. The shortcuts are just that, SHORT. There is no long term viability in short cuts.
