Sometimes I feel that United never seem to take the Carling Cup seriously. They are waiting to be knocked out so that they have one less competition to concentrate on.

I hope that is not the mindset of SAF, but then United haven't been consistent in the League Cup at all.

Back to league fixtures away to Birmingham this Saturday expecting to see the winning run continue, as we climb steadily towards the top :)

With Arsenal running away early, United do need to win. And against Birmingham methinks that they will be fine. Easy 3 pts !

It won't be an easy game but with alot better team playing than the starting 11 than the other night they will get back to winning ways, but Birmingham will be on a high after their draw with Liverpool last weekend so will go into it with high hopes. But United will in my opinion be too strong for them!!

    3-1 United

Maybe for the 1st time this season we will see United firing with all guns, expect United to have too much class and fire power for Birmingham

United ease past Birmingham to make it 5 off 1-0 victories in a row

Ronaldho closed the game out early into the 2nd half as he ran across the penalty box to drive a shot into the goal

Its not pretty but its another 3 points

Yeah you're right.. but we still play some fantastic football (apart from this game :() and created a lot of chances. I'm hoping all the new recruit to blend in so we can have the same quality football we showed last season.

This is not true.. United do care about Carling Cup. It's a great place to give the young players some exposure before they ready for the big challenge. Now after the Carling Cup exit, ferguson want to loan out some of his youngsters.

Er...the best way to show that you care for a trophy is to win it. And of course Carling Cup can be won by giving yongsters a chance too. He just overdoes the youngsters part a bit IMHO.

Anyways.Good win at Birmingham. Crappy game. Vital 3 points.

Yeah i agree.. Fergie should give the young players a chance but not all at same time.. although its just Coventry, they do have some experience compared to United youngsters.
