Currently I'm running FrontPage extensions on a FreeBSD server, but of course FP Xtensions are old news now. I am going to be rebuilding a RedHat server and was looking for an alternative to FP Xtensions. I would rather not go with any Microsoft products...any suggestions?? I have to have something to assign privileges/permissions, because I have hundreds of users that contribute to the site. Thanks in advance!

There are a number of Freeware PHP scripts available which will allow users to share content. I have not used FP in a long time (prob late 90s?), so I am not sure exactly sure what you are wanting to do - but I would *bet* that there is a php script out there for free that emulates what you're doing right now with FP. If you post more info on how you are using FP, I will try to give you some example scripts.

I use it to authorize and assign permissions to users on the server. I just want an easy (Web interface is always nice), yet secure way to assign access and permissions. As opposed to doing it thru a command line for every user in SSH. Any other features on top of that is nice as well (I like being able to check hyperlinks, get reports, etc that is accessible by using FrontPage xtensions). Thanks for help in advance.
