    Hi,

I have recently re-built an existing eCommerce website using WordPress.
I have added re-directions on all existing pages using a plugin.
Upon checking the 404 error logs I found that there are many image link.
Note that we have a lot of unique images on our website and I do not want to miss that traffic coming from image search.

How do I manage the 404 coming on for image URLs?

    Thanks

You should check once wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/ I think this plugins can help you to manage all redirection and reduce 404 errors.

Then for more details we have to check from image ...... i think you should create a page like gallery and redirect all broken images links there with a related message like due to upgrade some pictures URL change ..... Please check in gallery or search on site. I think you can save lots of related traffics by image by this way (If image redirection not fixed properly).

Thanks! I have added a redirection to the home page for all missing images. Since most of the image file names have also changed. This way I won't end up loosing the traffic coming from image search.
