I use SugarCRM and I hosting it online via my website. The software is open source but you will have to set it up yourself.

You can email from it, archive documents, set appointments, customer accounts, contacts etc.

The only disadvantage is that you will need to hosting yourself if you want it online, and there is a learning curving to using it and setting up. But once you have done that it works great. I use Version 5.0.0h (Build 3409) and have not bothered to upgrade because of the hassle.

Lastly, if you use thunderbird you can also archive incoming and outgoing emails etc to your contacts. Check it out, the open source version is free.

Hi, we use Moobiz to manage our clients, and project info. It is built on a CRM system, might do more than you need right now, but then you'd have access to all of the other functionality if you needed it.

Plus, you can 'switch off' whatever you're not using to keep it easy to use.
