I have tried my hand at design, and I am not as creative as I would like to be. What I really enjoy is running and managing websites and marketing them, and of course making money doing it. What would you call this sort of profession, say my goal was to start a few niche sites for myself, and also makes and maintain sites for others, such as local companies? I have a local doctor I am working on a site for, he wants me to make the site, market it, rank on google, and update it when he likes, and this is what I really enjoy. Do you think you can make a career out of this, and what would it be called? I know it's not designer, not sure what would be appropriate?
Well you can definetly make a carrere out of this and I would call it webmastering so you're the webmaster of the sier you manage
well I couldn't think of any other word for that. The only other word I could think of right now is web develeopementt which is like bringing all things together.
not in all cases it can also mean you hire a programmer to code for you and you do the rest. If it's all about marketing you're an Internet Marketer ...
I have a few friends that maintain other peoples sites and send out their news letters, yeah webmaster would be the correct term
I am still using it... it really does not matter much what you give yourself title.. customer only cares about you generating more business for them from internet marketing..
a lot of people use the term webmaster... if you search on monster.com you can see how many people still use it
If you're working for yourself, that's just freelancing. If you're working for a company and you're a part of a team that consists of designers, programmers, database admins, etc. the position would be called "project manager" EDIT: If you're just looking for something to put on a business card but you're still flying solo, I'd recommend something like Web Project Administrator or Web Project Coordinator.
