Managed Placements

Do you guys know if it's possible to do a managed placement in one particular page in a big website? For example, say I wanted to advertise designer handbags. If I googled designer handbags and some review on it from, say, NYTimes, popped up on the first page, can I advertise just on that particular page??

Yes you can, if the page is not too deep. Just try it, it will tell you.

nytimes.com/fashion almost surely will work, provided there is such a page
    nytimes.com/fashion/xxxx might too
    nytimes.com/fashion/xxx/yyy/zzz might not
    nytimes.com/fashion/xxx.html should work

I think there is a length limit to the URL which may be 128 characters.

The page must also exist. For example, if there is no main Fashion page, you could not use nytimes.com/fashion and target all sub-pages in that folder.

hmm, I had no idea a URL might have limits. Ok. I"m not sure if I get your couple sentences, but let me do another example. Say that this thread we're on right now is pretty hot, and I want to put a leaderboard up here. Could I just target this thread only?? This one little thread out of this entire forum.

Yes you could target just this one page.

One thing I know for sure is that the page must exist. So even if you find pages under a common folder (say digitalpoint.com/forums/adwords), there must be an actual HTML page called digitalpoint.com/forums/adwords.html. Sometimes, there is a folder called adwords but no actual page.

If that page does exist and is also a folder, digitalpoint.com/forums/adwords would target all pages under that folder.

This thread being dynamically generated (the showthread.php?t=2275873 part), I'm not sure it will work. I don't recall the rule on that and I don't think I ever targeted a dynamic page but I don't see why it wouldn't. Best to submit and see what happens.

good deal. i don't think managed placement on this thread works.

I've actually been looking into youtube, but I've had trouble doing managed placement there as well. The placement tool doesn't work when I"m trying to target a particular youtube video.

    T
he link above has a 300x250 Ad Space, but for some reason, when I add this link to the managed placement, it's not showing up... Sorry for the barrage of questions, but if you know how I can get an ad up there, please let me know.
