Hi, With godaddy I have the ultimate hosting package. I currently have two domains hosted which are nitelifedj.info and adventuresportsrv.info Ive installed wordpress on both and setup websites. I meant this to be temporary until I was able to migrate my two older domains (nitelifedj.ca and adventuresportsrv.com) over to godaddy. I recently transferred my domains over to godaddy from domainsatcost.ca. Im running my old domains on a linux server. The IP address of the server is 24.222.xx.2xx and I run DNS on that. As well as apache. What I would like to know how to do is how can I setup DNS on my old server and godaddy so I have the following settings: My pop server for both old domains is nitelifedj.ca would stay at 24.222.xx.2xx All email directed to @nitelifedj.ca and @adventuresportsrv.com would stay on existing server. I want to have my mailserver still located at the old site. All webpage stuff would be redirected to the domains hosted on godaddy. So if someone goes to www.nitelifedj.ca or nitelifedj.ca they would be redirected to the domain hosted on godaddy.. I currently use a html redirect on both sites to point to the .info domain but I want to uninstall apache from the old webserver. Eventually I will migrate the wordpress installs on both nitelifedj.info and adventuresportsrv.info to nitelifedj.ca and adventuresportsrv.com but I need the old sites hosted on godaddy first. Any help is appreciated. Thank you
You should setup only one MX record for nitelifedj.ca and also adventuresportsrv.com to go to mail.nitelifedj.ca and mail.adventsuresportsrv.com respectively. Then, set an A record for mail.nitelifedja.ca and also mail.adventuresportsrv.com to point to 24.222.xx.2xxx Make the A records for nitelifedja.com (also www. version) and also adventuresportsrv.com + www. version to point to the new IP address as assigned by GoDaddy.
