Has anyone else ever used mamma.com for their searching? I think it ranks right up there with google and ask, but doesn't seem to be as widely known. I'd like for you all to try it out and let me know what you think. Maybe it's just me.

I remember Mamma.com from way back there, never really used it that much. But, I know someone who did, and they overly used it. This was before we found out about Google or really before it became utterly popular. As for now, no, I don't use it, and it seems Mamma isn't really on top anywhere. I mean, there may be a small fraction of users who use it, although, I don't really see it becoming a leader in the search engine world like Google, for example. I guess you could still find some interesting results with it though. Mamma just seems a little outdated though, they need to step up to really compete if they wanted to. So, yeah, I've used them very briefly back in 98/99 -- And that was it, I think Yahoo! was my main thing at the time, I just went back to Yahoo! after using Mamma. (didn't know about Google for awhile) :p

Mama is a meta powered search engine based on Gigablast, Ask.com, Entireweb, Business.com, About.com, Miva

    There's not too much traffic.

To be honest, I think the big search engines are big for a reason. Just flat out better quality, and more money to invest in their algo's.

I guess what I find interesting is that if the company that owned the engine took it seriously then they would remove the check box for WiseNut.com (under Power Search) for search results as that engine has been dead for awhile.
