    Hi all,
I'm new to the whole idea of making money online so I feel quite lucky I found this forum to ask for advice and guidance.

Let me give you a quick background. I've been online almost since the internet began and I work in a technical field. With yet another New Year passing I realise I'm no closer to making my first million that I was five years ago. All my ideas seem to have been pushed aside and the time has whirled past so quickly.

Now I've decided I can wait no longer. I'm looking to the internet to help make this ambition come true and would be grateful for some advice.

I have money to invest in tools and training so I can afford to do it on more than a shoe string budget. I also have the drive and ambition to learn the skills I'll need to be successful. What I need now is a pointers in the right direction!

    All suggestions welcomed.

Well I work as a technical consultant in the field of Networking/Messaging so my knowledge of computers and the internet are pretty good. I also understand the basic priciples of how search engines work and how pages are ranked so I'm not starting from the very beginning.

I also understand some of the routes people use to make money online such as advertising revenues, affiliate schemes, digital product sales etc...

More importantantly I'm willing to learn and do whatever it takes to generate a significant income online.

Something nobody can teach you, whats your niche? Thats the single biggest question you have to ask yourself. If you can't find one then there is no starting place.

Have you any ideas on what you would like to make money on?

i think it is good start to work with AdSense
if you have a background in any niche try to create website on that niche and when you start to get traffic add the ads on it :)

i'll tell you my way :

i made a website of interest to many people in my country, and although there are great competiting websites on the same market, i manage to reach a non-negligible market share.

on my website ads can be found. some of my visitors click on my ads, and i get paid accordingly.

this is one of the solutions to earn money on the web.
what you need for that is a website with significant traffic on a theme that is preferably close to your heart and preferably where advertisors are paying well for a click on their ads.

keep us updated on your choices and progress.
