making sure content is fresh

Since Google launched their 'recently active' content filter, how can someone make sure that Google recognizes their content as "fresh" content?

might be a great way to start ranking higher for searches if someone can figure out how to manipulate this...

(unless Google bases this on when googlebot first indexed the page)

This will burn the old content forever?
I'm not sure that's very good...

In my opinion fresh information, fresh tips are better then a 5 year old tutorial.

eg: if I am looking for "windows setup" it's better to show up pages that describes how to setup Vista and XP rather then windows 98...

Very interesting, though i dont think it will have a huge effect, just another one of the 200+ criteria Big G uses.

Matt wrote "If you restrict the results to the last three months, the same search for Google gives more recent urls", if it won't be heavily promoted or used by default then no one will use it.

More over he confirms my words ;) "Just a handy search tip for power users".
