So, does it work? I'm just curious if there are people who made sales thanks to their signature links in forums.

Hi silverpoint!! Signatures are like your business cards online!! Just like now if you had a signature I would possibly click it on to see what you're about!! Yes, it helps you make sales/money!!
~ by the way Good Morning!!

It probably depends on the forum and how much you actually contribute - people can see spam posts a mile away, but if you actually added value and made posts and gave advice on relevant topics to your signature links then you might do alright, but it also depends on the nice / forum - I think if you are considering posting here with IM products in a tiny url in your sig. then you will not get much of a result, but posting in non IM forums could be ok.. but I think it really depends on how much effort you put in, and I tihnk people will just be more recpetive to clicking your sig. and taking you seriously if it is your product rather than just a clickbank product you are recommending.

.. There are probably better ways to make sales basically.

Most forums will ban users for using affiliate links in their signatures.

In fact back when I've used these techniques none of the forums would accept my signatures with affiliate links in them. And I'm not talking about webmasters forums. I'm referring to niche forums.

The signature links get a very low click through rate as well, it's pretty useless I'd say - you'll only end up wasting your time.

There's a lot of other ways to bring traffic to your affiliate websites other than spamming forums with affiliate links.

Try article marketing / video marketing they're way more lucrative techniques on the long run.

I agree partly with Al and Sub.

You need to be giving useful and quality posts to get anywhere with affiliate links in your sig, I would stick with using links to your site in niche related forums.

This way you are building backlinks and traffic and may see a few sales from that traffic or from the serps.

They are useful for backinks, and also a lot depends on the wording of your signature.

Yes, it absolutely works. I changed my signature the other day for my latest project's affiliate program that we launched over the weekend and have already had a handful of new affiliates sign up through that link who are already making sales.

Just make sure that the posts you make in the forum are actually valuable. Don't just write, "great post" or "Hmmm, can you tell me more about this?" like spammers are so famous for, but post like you normally would, show you know what you are talking about, and contribute and you'll find some good traffic and sales.

One more thing, don't overstay your welcome. Don't post 50 posts a day and clog the forum with your random thoughts on every single thing. Post the amount you normally would and the forum will thank you.

They can definitely work, but as other said you need to have quality post material as well. It helps if your signature is related to the topic you are discussing as well.

I have had many order page impressions from the forums related to the product being promoted.

Most niche forums, if not 99% of them will ban users for using aff. links in their signatures.

It's better to use your domain name in your sig. file however you might get banned for that too.

Forums aren't really the way to market clickbank products / not even on a larger scale.

Hope this clarifies marketing clickbank products on forums. :)

Ya I agree with you Precious007, aff links are not allowed instead use a domain redirect. Get some cheap domains like .info at godaddy and redirect them to your affiliate sites.

If you have a niche website promoting a clickbank product that I'm kinda disagree with precious007.. I have tried forum posting myself and usually getting good and valuable backlinks from them.. Forum posting is one of the major promoting method I use to get highly targeted visitors.. I have hired several people under me whom I pay per month for posting on high traffic niche related forums.. :)

All you need to post is just a meaningful and good quality post. Posting useless sh!ts which completely seems like attracting readers to your sig links definitely leads you towards ban.. :p

    @akki313

I was talking about affiliate links, direct linking to your landing pages is another story, but still many forums can get you banned for it.

Spamming affiliate links isn't the way to go that's my point ---

Since you'll only capture/make a lead if your traffic is targeted/ not by actually nudging people to buy your product.

Hope I made it clear :)

Selling from signature is not so potential to the real situation but it could be an alert to ppl about what service you are serving less you give a really good service.

I have tried pomoting in the signature area in niche forums. I posted good, quality and useful posts, but was banned from all forums pretty much straight away because I had a link in my signature ot a related product. As someone else said above, the same thing happened to them. Forums don't want links in peoples signatures.
