Making part of an image smaller

    Hey,

I guess this can be done.

How does one make part of an image that is already done smaller.
For example, there are people or an object in the image. I like the background but I want the object or image to be smaller and still blend in like the original.

These crazy stock image sites have some nice photos but some have people just too close up...thoughts?

    I'm afraid that's not possible.
You can make the people/object smaller but you cannot recover the background originally hidden by the bigger size people/object ;)

It depends on the background - sometimes it can be re-created quite easily by using retouch techniques (clone stamp for example). If it's not possible, you can still try putting a person on a fake background after extracting the silhouette from the original photo. But there will be cases when nothing can be done as 50plus said.

There's no reason why you can't, but it will require some work.

    Do this:
Step 1. Select the area around the foreground objects you wish to reduce in size using the lasso tools. (Video tutorial)
Step 2. Create a new layer, then resize your foreground objects accordingly.
Step 3. Fix the background using the clone/heal tools. (Video tutorial)
    Step 4. ...
    Step 5. Profit!
