I want to make about 8-10 pages on my website that will come up on Google results pages.......

However, I dont want to put links on the site where users can find these pages....

Its complicated, but basically... people already coming to the site, I dont want them to find these pages

I basically just want people who search Google to find these pages.......

Can Google penalize you, for having webpages out there, without having links to it on your site????

Yes I have heard that 'orphaned' pages can hurt your search engine rankings. So you'll want to still link to these pages, but not in an obvious spot. One technique I use is to have links to 2 different sitemaps. The easier to find sitemap would have all the links regular users would want. The second sitemap would have all your doorway pages. Without sufficient internal links to these pages they might not rank very well. You would probably want to try to get some external links to these pages if you want them to get rankings.
