Making over $500 daily on a site I was about to shut down..here are some of my tips!

First off I will not display the url under any circumstance sorry...secondly I'm not allowed to display certain info reguarding my adsense account so no screenshots for now but probably next month I will request a check from Google instead of EFT and take a picture (check amount should be over $10k)


This all happened accidentally...adsense was making up around 45% of my company's revenue. I run over 15 other sites that do very well. And a few months ago I noticed a increase in not just my CTR (anything above 0.10% is considered good) but in my cpc my average for almost a year in several niches was $1-$1.30 then suddenly I was receiving $2 & $3 clicks.

I'm a data junky so I took weeks analyzing the data, redesigning the site (which I test 6-9 times a day). turns out my cpc would go up over $4-5 how? First off my content wasn't just engaging the blog content was designed to allow Google's algorthms to display relevant ads through the blog post content.

How is this done?
For starters 100% unique content...it has to start there, secondly don't write your blogs yourself even if your great at SEO...pay a writer that has at least a Bachelors in writing (masters would be preferred) and does freelance writing that ties to seo. The seo/keyword triggering isn't so much for optimization for Google's search engine it's for the ad targeting.

I then played around with not just ad-placement but colors, positioning ads in a div to have backgrounds in the back to create what's called "noise" that in turn makes the ads pop. But I found that simplicity in any approach works best with text ads.

I also lightened the font: from default black or offset black to grey but not just any grey I tried over 59 combinations of grey and that lead to an increased CTR of over 130%.

I also spend $100 a month on adwords to help my seo efforts, which every web owner should do...why well I was able to get a 3 week old domain to a page rank of 6/10 within a month just with adwords which lead me to believe adwords does have some algorithmic favoring when it comes to seo positioning. After all your scratching Google's back financially why wouldn't they scratch yours.
So now my goal for April is over $2,000 a day with a ctr of 3% and an increase in organic traffic by 70%

Site currently receives over 5,000 visitors a day so yes traffic isn't 50 or 1,000 visits a day you have to get an insane amount of traffic to make money. But you guys can do it, just don't be "lazy" be motivated to work until your pass out A/B testing everything and when your done, test again, and test again. If you can't do something learn.

I'm over here lying in my bed with upper back pain saying I'm going to take the week off lol and I'm still getting paid, I love it!!!

 

Just so you know "blue" is the color of truth/integrity.

What does that mean...it means that having your adsense ad block some shade of blue cognitively will give the user a trustworthy vibe not just for your brand but for the ad, resulting in a higher ctr. And if you make $xxx a day advertisers start to bid on placement and your cpc goes up.

 

Also focus on unique content that's geared toward North & South America, & the UK...why because they pay over $0.50 a click for starters countries like india, japan, china, Phillipines etc pay $0.02 and $0.06 a click. with a low ctr or even average on at that you going to need alot 0f traffic t0 make money.

To check your keywords "geo targeting" just type it into Google Trends.

Ha I'm far from a guru...everyday is a learning experience, although I've been a adsense publisher since 2006 I'm just now starting to really focus on maximizing my income via contextual ads...glad you guys are finding my info useful.

yeah it always is...their no substitute for hard work...enthusiasm or experience don't matter much if your not going to work toward completing a goal without incident.

Your saying:

With the $2 clicks you will be earning $10 a day and not $500?

0.10% x 5000 x $2 = $10 or $15 with the $3 clicks

 

Webgold I'm not allowed to reveal my actual CTR that's why I said "anything above 0.10% is good meaning my CTR is above 0.10% and site is receiving over 5,000 visits some days it gets 8,000...sorry I 'm not allowed to give out "exact" figures not going to get my account banned or ads disabled.

Wow your my idol! Did you read any books to learn more about this type of thing or you just learned it messing around with the site? I got ALOT of work to do ! I hope one day I reach that glory.

JC007 if I told you the amount oif clicks I receive a day in 5 seconds doing arithmetic you'll be able to see my earnings nut that is against Google's TOS. Sorry if your disappointingly confused but I will not move from that premise.

 

rofl I'm not going to get in to any politics here on digitalpooint because it doesn't make me money it only leads to stress and I'm currently recovering from back pain.

Skarfaze earnings is probably under $10 a day so reading my post and soaking all of my experience (years of experience) and insignts encouraged him to tweak his current setup and hopefully go for a $50 or $100 a day goal for this year.

Nothing wrong about that, same reason why you have read self help books and have probably visited encouraging blogs/forums on making money online.

Yep if your lazy your probably only going to keep yoru blog/site as a hobby (hobbies aren't business as they aren't meant to tyrn a profit) and most likely will only make enough money to buy a happy meal once a month and pay your hosting bills.

If your determined to test, reiterate, rinse & repeat you will see an increase in your earnings. Focus on building a BUSINESS! Business are in the business to make money don't get excited about owning a "startup" and the I'll just show off to my friends that I have a website mentality.
