Making one form button 'active'?

    Greets, all -

    On the 'Add New Links' page is the 'Target' section where you select how you want the link to open. I have about 200 links to import so I'd like it to be set to 'new window' by default. The three selections are in the 'meta-boxes' file in wp-admin/includes.

    Naturally, there's a problem. In HTML, one of the selections is clearly marked 'checked' and that's the default. In the PHP code, all three blocks of code are identical.

    In hunting around the web, I found a handful of people asking the same question, usually with the reply that whichever option is listed last is the automatic default. This doesn't work for me, and it didn't work for those asking the question in the forums.

    Any thoughts on this mighty little poser?
