I have to admit, I use MSN before Yahoo but not Google. Google still gets me the best and most relevant results.
I don't know, google used to be as easy as msn 3 or 4 years ago that live thing is pretty dope, now if they would just get some fo the those blog spammers out of the way
I heard that microsoft is playing hardball with google, putting a search box right next to the start button, (in windows vista) with live.com the default search engine
Yep, if it aint good old microsoft, it aint good enough! That said, forget their office products. Search gives you better and newer results in most terms. With google, as someone pointed out, you get old sites, forums, even sites no longer on the net. Depends on what I am searching for, if google delivers right away, good. If not, msn for sure.
Anyway. I don't care as long as I get hits from them. And get the results for which I am searching for. Even if it is from Google or MSN or Yahoo.
The good thing about Microsoft is they arent afraid to throw money at a product to make it better. I read an article a few months ago where Bill Gates said they would probably test out the idea of paying people to use their search engine. If they really did that, that would motivate people to switch over to MSN search.
I don't know about making it better but they are good at throwing money at a product. They are also good at charging big bucks to buy a product that still has bugs in it.
MSN needs to fix their algorithm, I still see lots of spammers ranking in their SERPs. For all who don't agree with my last statement. Your free to believe what you want. Just name one product that they made that wasn't full of bugs. (I am not talking about video games here)
They did do a good job with the Xbox. But they always seem to release software before all the bugs are out then they release all the service packs for it.
That's fine with me. It makes me money. http://mia.net/HTML/home/tuneup.html One thing MS has done right is release buggy software. Keeps us busy charging people to fix MS's short comings. Hopefully it stays that way.
I tried it now and it darn near crashed my computer. I was using a fully patched version of WinXP pro with a fully patched MSIE browser. The browser window froze quickly. I needed to use the task manager to kill that instance of the browser and regain the ability to do anything on my machine. I do not want AJAX and what not. I want a simple text based window with a simple fork into which I enter my search terms and out pop the results. I am not interested in another MS appliance. So, as always, it will have fans but it will not take over.
You guys charge people $50.00 to defrag peoples hardrives and install ad aware, thats rich. Maybe I should change carreers.
It's a bit more in depth than that. It added an extra $1200/week in additional income, so there is a need, and people are quite happy with the work we do. We used to charge $40, but demand became so great, we raised the price. If you are our customer, we will do it for $40. We also treat a windows machine like a visit to the dentist's office. We schedule a 6 month check where they do it again.
