adsense? other programs like it? you can sell links in your sidebar? link your site to an affiliate program - commission earned for songs purchased! loads of ways... .
You shouldn't bother to try making money from it until you get some serious constant traffic. After that, you will have to experiment a lot and find the money makers that work best for you.
True. you could just risk annoying your visitors with laggy loading due to the ads. Your not going to make anything with low hits anyway so keep it ad free until they come. Try a conduit toolbar to make money as well. you can have an internet radio in it, get new email notifications from the toolbar, search google or other sites from it, all kinds of custmizable widgets.... very handy.
