I thought it was more like highest yield. I mean that a 0.20 ad that is clicked 2% of the time would be displayed higher than a 0.30 ad that is clicked 1% of the time. Of course there is some amount of randomness when a new ad is displayed and does not have enough opportunity to establish track record. Am I wrong? Ajeet
SE, does that mean then that the highest 4 ads are always displayed where 4 ads are shown? I assume, and 6 where 6 are shown etc.
It's a bit tricky really. Paying more for your adwords campaign does not guarantee that your ad will be #1 for your desired search in the google SERP's. The amount of interest your ad receives is what gets in higher. Ie - the better the ad copy, the better the google results. As far as I know (This is what I have seen anyway), this does not also apply to adsense, as with all the expirements I have carried out, the higher the ad in the block), the higher the ad value. Ad Interest doesn't dseem to apply to ads on publishers pages. Sorry NC, just realised I didn't answer your question... Yep - I think that's right. The highest paid ads will always be displayed first.
OK - I understand/agree with #1 above ... and I've seen that if I turn on graphical ads that I seem to just get one ... but I prefer text ads ... so how they heck do I modify things so that only 2 are shown in the single block rather than 4 ... I didn't see an option to do that. Thanx!
If I understand that correctly, you would have to use a banner sized ad code limiting the ads to two as the larger ads options offer 4 ads.
Not really. Go to the first post of this thread. Disgust talks about this exact thing. You might get $10 from one ad, but only get one click a day. You might also get $0.10 from another ad but get 1000 clicks a day. Which is better then?
Welllll DUHHHHHHH ... don't know why I didn't think of that - I just changed everything on www.komar.org from 728x90 to 468x60 format - on good Adsense days I can "super-size" it, so maybe with this change, I can get a Hot Apple Pie too! ;-)
