Just my 2 cents worth: I think u can learn from this forum which i believed it was monetize through PPC adverts, affiliate programs and renting the ads space! All the best in ur venture!
Your forum would be too young to even think about making money, nor should you try, as you may just run off members in your process of trying to make money. You should focus your energy into building your forum; otherwise you may end up failing thinking about how to make money.
how true. Many new forum creators and also website creators rush to make the money to fast by posting useless ads that crimp the usefulness of the forum. Like dscurlock said take time getting known and rent ad space out to only proven and trusted members.
