The old saying goes like this "What you think is what you are" .. and this is what I think: Money can buy everything, today money can buy good health, happiness, pleasure and what not? It needs lot of nerves to comment like this where in the world people say 'money is the root cause of all evil' .. blah.. blah.. and stuff like that. If you have heard people say, real happiness does not come from making money, there are three cases of people who say like that. 1. People who made quick money either unethically or without contributing real productivity to the society. 2. People who haven't made money and are too lazy to try it out, the convince themselves and others with this negative idea. 3. People who worked too hard and made lot of money without enjoying the process of doing so. What you have heard so far is only the half truth, and idea such as this cannot be 100% communicated through words.. language has its pitfalls. Strong and powerful concepts in one's mind sound foolish to the other when communicated through words. Such complex ideas can only be perceived by people who possess the other half of the idea. When the ideas of communicator and the receiver merges 100% transfer is achieved. Making money is not selfish, but having made it and not sharing with others IS. God could not have created the world without the goddess of wealth and knowledge. The Nature is rich in its own sense... there is richness all around us in the form of natural resources, money is just a tool to share these resources in accordance to one's contribution to the society. If you get a gift from your friend for your birthday and just keep it in the corner without opening it, wouldn't your friend be disappointed? Similarly God is definitely disappointed with the persons who have become sadhus or sanyasis who have left the gift of natural resources left unopened in the corner of their life. Thats it! "There are two kinds of people in the world. One who believe that this article makes sense, and the others who lie to themselves and others that this article is non-sense"
these are my thoughts as well. Actually I just did a blog post called: Stop Being Selfish...And Get Rich!!! I think that if people are comfortable just living life, having their 9-5 and having a comfortable life - they are actually being quite selfish.
