Ok so here's the story. My little cousin was playing this online game called "Runescape" and in the game itself someone was advertising his/her website for selling "Runescape gold" for REAL money... Nowadays kids... Curious as I was I went in to this website and they were selling Runescape "gold" for real money. So my question is does people or kids(?) really buy these ingame "gold" for real money? They had many payment options like paypal neteller etc. and the website looked nice and so on. I dont want to know exactly how much they earn but if it's a decent amount of money I'm thinking of starting playing games and later sell them through paypal, neteller or something similar. Also I'm wondering if its legal?
Yes a lot of people buy it. Several years ago when I played World of warcraft I saw loads of gold farmers as they are called, spamming their website link in the game chat. The gold farmers usually come from countries where their currency is worth really little so for them it's worth making money this way online. Some even offer services to level up your characters and so on.
Thanks for your reply. Maybe it's not worth to do it as there's already too many companies selling gold.
I had this experience with an MMORPG called Cabal. My friend introduced me to it and I went to his house and saw him playing it one day. He showed me his Inventory and it had like 6,000,000 Alz (that's the in-game currency), and he was very low level for what money he should have been able to get. He told me he bought it online from a website! I think it was just under £5 for that much... now this kind of thing happens on pretty much every MMO you can think of, and it's now much easier to do it.
I do. I played Ragnarok Online and spent a LOT of money (by A LOT, I really mean IT!!!) for equipment, x2 exp cards, premium items etc. It's very normal to be honest. How do you think these Online Games make money? It's through this! They sell their In game currency, and we buy them.
I think wulkanen is right. If you're not living in a country with a weak currency it is a waste of your time.Perhaps trading the games currency would be better :creating a site, making connections, etc (who knows what a world that is )
I've looked up on youtube, and there was like chinese kids playing for a company and making around 600 yen a month for a living.. very sad stories.
There are quite a few ways you can earn money online playing games, some of them will require skills and others won’t. Sometimes you need a bit of luck to hit the jackpot and make a ton of cash.
It's an okay way to make decent money imo. Not only can you sell the in-game currency, you can also sell items and the account itself. And you don't even have to do any of the work tbh, if you're willing to put up cash first, you can get a decent VPS and run bots on it 24/7 on several different accounts each gold-farming or training the accounts etc. I use to play Runescape a lot until late 2010/early 2011 and just the other day, I looked up how much my account was worth, and it was worth $90 with the gold on it. However gold prices have dipped a bit in runescape, I was offered .35 cents a million...obviously it's not a lot, but think about it, have 4-6 accounts just constantly gold-farming, and after your month of VPS is up, you can sell your gold and get some money with relative ease.
Seems pretty interesting if you ask me, lol. Im sure for alot of these kids its fast and easy money..
the gold we have earned from this type of games can be exchanged at this type of sites https://www.virtaex.com/ .There are lot more sites like viratex
