Pick a hobby or interest of yours and make a site based around it. Make a blog on it and you'll eventually start getting traffic if you write well. Then you can monetize it.

If you browse around the BST section, it'll show you what people are selling (and how they're making money), you can try to use their methods..

If you have a hard time coming up with ideas for content creation than you need to look elsewhere for an idea for an online business. Without content creation, getting traffic takes time and money, spend some time lurking here and other places like johnchow.com and you'll be up to speed in no time.

From what I've seen, most people make between $5 -$500 per month.

But then there's people like me that make a living doing it.

you might want to start with keyword research at like wordtracker.com or the adsense keyword tool to see if any of the ideas you have seem to be popular on the internet and get a lot of traffic

If you don't want to write you can try to make money on Second Life. Not everyone makes money doing it but its definitely possible. You have to pay for your own virtual "real estate" and you can sell virtual clothes, weapons, books, etc. you design at your store, or start a SL casino

You can give some services like directory submission, forum postings, designing etc first. There are many ways of earning few bucks at starting stage.

    Good luck!

ya, or like investing in other people's ventures, do a parntership, or lending ppl money on dp.

If you got msn pm me, I maybe able to give you a few ideas.

And regards to how much people earn realisticly. I agree with Christian Little but there's a lot of people who also make negatives. So I would say its something like -$200 - $500/per month.

I still think my suggestion is the best.

Going around dp looking for people that are asking to lead money. Or give them E-Gold for paypal. :)

    http://w3schools.com/

Honestly though, if you're just set out to make money, I would look elsewhere. You have to like what you're doing, because you'll put more hours than you can imagine into a site, and they money will slowly roll in, but it takes a long time.

Develop a skill like building websites, writing articles, designing ebook covers, etc. and then sell your services. It's not going to make you a ton of money, but if you work hard at it, it will bring in a small amount of continuous revenue.

While you are doing this you will learn how people are making real money. Then you can emulate their methods and make more.

Or you could pick one of the proven methods of marketing and stick with it until you start making money. Start a blog, do affiliate marketing, create an informational product on something you love and sell it on a website, create a content filled website and sell advertising, start a forum and sell advertising, etc. Find something and stick with it. It will take time.

Or you could find products to sell on eBay and go that way.

Like others said, find a topic you love and work with it. If you choose something you don't like, just because you think it is popular with others, working on your products/services will be a chore and will quickly grow old. Find something you can stick with for the long haul.
