Making Money Off A Parked Domain

    Hi everyone,

I may get some reds for asking about how to make a no-value-added website, but I'm going to take a chance and ask anyway.

I just registered a domain that I think will get a fair amount of traffic just from someone typing in another domain wrong. My intent is to have a little bit of content on the site, but to get people to click on some ads.

What is the best way to do this?

My initial thought is to put up a couple of paragraphs of related content and have Adsense ads in prime positions. I say Adsense because I don't have any other types of accounts (YPN, FastClick, etc.). However, I'm aware that Google probably wouldn't be too keen on me doing this as they don't want the ads shown on parked pages (I would like to point out that I will have a few paragraphs of content, however).

I see services like sedo and it seems like people have had some success with selling their domains through them. It's not my intent to sell the domain, but I guess I would for the right price! :p

So, I just wanted to know what people would suggest I do with this domain. Should I put up a page with minimal content and throw up some Adsense ads? Or should I use another (less restrictive?) program like FastClick? Or should I use sedo, and if so, what sort of income can I expect from their ads?

You can park your domain with sedo too. But I personaly dont make money from sedo parking program, if you have great domain you will probably make more.

But best thing to do its to make adsense site for your domains.

Developing it and putting adsense on it earn more then just parking it somewhere. If you have some scripts then just upload them and patse in your adsense code. This has worked for me so thought to share the idea with you.

    Thanks.

unless the domain has a lot of traffic you probably won't make much from it. Parking has kind of died the last couple of years.

Try Bodis. I believe they pay higher than others. I've gotten paid a few times with them, and it's crazy because they don't have a minimum threshold for payments. I've gotten payments less than $1.00 from them.

Parking won't earn you a lot, and may not be worth the time to set it up / manage it every now and then.

I would recommend putting quality content on a mini-site with AdSense advertisements. Depending on the domain, you may also think about trying ClickBank or another affiliate product system.

You mentioned the domain is a mistype of a popular term. Make sure you are 100% positive the domain is not a trademarked phrase before attempting to earn money off it for related content.

I wonder which PPC network would be OK with nearly empty, 1-page microsite... :]
