Making Money from Hubpages and Adsense - an Experiment

I have hopes of making far, far more than $400 from this project - though to be fair my hubs are more like 600 words than 200.

And yes, I can and do sell my writing (look in my sig for example) - but I am looking to create a constant stream of income to go alongside other projects.

I am already finding these hubs useful for backlinking to personal sites and I expect them to continue to be of use.

I am just an adsense hater LOL. I will follow this thread though as you seem to be making progress.

Do you use a speech software atall when writing? I find that I can bang out many more articles if I use speech recognition software I use one called Dragon and its great cuts down my time alot.

 

I've looked at dragon naturally speaking before and considered it - it is about 3rd on my list of software buys... I am trying to limit my buying to only what I make from adsense (from various projects) which is slowly growing again (I had sold off a bunch of sites making some very good money from adsense).

Current 'buy list' are

1. Scrape box
2. Article Marketing Robot
3. Dragon Naturally Speaking

Some small increases in rankings - a few have now broken the top 10 (and have one at #1 spot but that one was done entirely because of my obsession with the subject and only has 200 monthly exact searches). Hope to have a few of the better keywords break the top 3 by the end of the week

I have high hopes. Not done the massive amount of work I was hoping to on it, but still hopeful it will progress nicely and be a useful side income - I have big plans for the next few days to get that number up!

 

I know some people making hundreds of dollars on hubpages with a couple hundreds of hubs... Hubpages is good for backlinking but I think its a waste of time creating hubs and expecting earnings that much. you said 60% of impressions? Then you can have 40% more if you create your own websites....

 

As I covered elsewhere I am very aware of this but

1) I wanted to created this BEFORE using a new site challenge as I want the power that the backlinks from this would provide that challenge.
2) The power of being an established, authority site (as hubpages is) gives the articles a good boost for the SERPs, getting them earning far quicker than I would otherwise
3) A couple of hundred hubs doesn't take that much time - as you said people are making hundreds of dollars - which is a useful side income.

This is just an experiment I am running to see if it's worth it. Maybe it will be, maybe it won't - but I'm hopeful I will decide one way or the other from it - and perhaps help people on here decide as well!

Income: $0.15 ($0.48 for the week)
Traffic from Search Engines: 55 (a record) - 86 for the week

 

Its a good way to gain decent traffic and earn as well. I'm using this strategy on my niche site and the result is pretty great.. I got good ranking on major search engine in less than 3 months for a new site. I absolutely agree on this thread!

 

It is, if you know what you are doing with links and SEO then you can get a good amount of traffic to your target sites as well as the money and backlink power benefits

 

Now there's a good question. I would start getting very active by commenting on hubs and joining in on the forums to get your hubscore rising rapidly and then get lots of backlinks using all the usual ways.

Next write another ten hubs and continue building traffic and then rinse and repeat. I will be very interested to hear how it all goes. Good luck.

Hubpages is great, I normally just link my hubs together and that moves them up the serps slowly.
