ChaCha is a mobile answers service, similar to Yahoo! Answers, but users text in various questions to ChaCha (242-242) and your job would be to find the answer, and reply back. ChaCha guides work on computers, and your schedule is entirely up to you, you can log in for 5 minutes here and there, or log in and work 8 hours straight if you want.

This is not me looking for referrals, this is me helping the DP community make some money. I was referred to this on a similar forum, and I felt the DP members would appreciate this information.

    More Information about ChaCha:
    ChaCha on CNN
    ChaCha on Wikipedia

Requirements: You must be 18+ and a US Citizen.

If you are interested in becoming a guide, and want guaranteed acceptance into the program, send me a PM with "ChaCha" as the subject, and I will send you a new user guide I wrote up for aspiring ChaCha employees.

I only have about 28 slots open for referrals, by using be as a referral you have guaranteed acceptance.

    Good Luck Everyone!

I've heard great things about ChaCha -- it is entirely possible to earn $15 an hour off this if you're a Top Guide. I've just signed up and passed all the tests -- once my "practice" test is verified by ChaCha, I'm on my way to making $1,000 a month on top of my real job and my webmastering.

    BOOYA!

Lol, people in North Korea don't have access to the internet. :D

Just to follow up on this...I somehow failed the test run of having to do 10 answers for people even though I gave perfect responses, so I had to give up on ChaCha.

I LOVE ChaCha! It's an easy way to make a few hundred a month extra; but I've talked with several other guides who make a solid $500/WEEK from it lol!

Just a quick trick for any guides who come across this. You can piggy-back your earnings and make it so that you'd be earning $0.035/search MORE by using a paid to search site to look up your query answers! In other words, you'll earn either $0.10 or $0.20/query answered depending on if you're a top guide level or not. I go through my own personal search page that I get from a site called Homepages Friends to do my searches, and I earn an additional $0.035/search that I do for ChaCha (or ANY searches that I or anyone who uses my homepage to search from do online). The site is free, and it's partnered with Yahoo, so you get great results from Yahoo's search engine... just get a little extra in the bank for your efforts lol.

It adds up pretty quickly too. If you're making $200/week with ChaCha and you simply signed up with this service to do your searches you'd be making an extra $147/month for doing the SAME THING you're already doing anyways. No more work; just more money. I've been doing it for a few months now and am REALLY happy with the results. Plus my favorite thing is the referral system. You can tell others about it and earn even more. So far I've gotten almost 2 dozen other guides signed under me and now they get to make a few $100/month more, I make an extra couple $100/ month more, and no one is doing anymore work! :) Gotta love these tricks!

Anyways, for anyone who's interested, you can join Homepages and get your own search page from the link in my sig. Best of luck and Happy ChaCha-ing!

don't believe the hype, they are just trying to recruit you so they can earn off you, ChaCha is independent contractor type of work.

you do not get paid per the hour, you get paid per search, so you can easily expect less than 5$ an hour

they hire anyone by the way, and honestly how many 'workers' do you think are on at any given time? expect it to be in the hundreds and how many searches do you think this site gets then divide that up per the workers, trust me if they cared they would make it per hour not independent contractor .

Only reason they hire americans(i have been american all my life btw) is because of there knowledge base and use of the english lang., otherwise this type of service would be outsource to india. simple as that

to be honest it avgs really low(the pay) .

and to the people that claim they work for chacha, be truthful and honest How many hours do you work to get $200 per week from Chacha ALONE. not this other stuff to make chacha not as lame as it really is.

you can't honestly claim you get a steedy flow of searches unless your up after prime time hours or up earler than prime time hours prime time hours is when all the guides are on during the day

Using poor grammar and punctuation does not help your case, if you do not like ChaCha don't post in the thread.

I have been 100% truthful and honest in this thread, and trying to "call me out" on my earnings is just plain rude.

I could care less how many referrals I have, it does not really help me out, it helps YOU out by guaranteeing that you get hired by ChaCha.

There would no point in paying by the hour, the quality of the answers would drop, and no one would bother working hard, everyone would sit around and do nothing, how exactly do you think that is fair to everyone else kid?

Listen, I am a college student and I do ChaCha at work, I work on a computer all day and have more than enough spare time to do a few hours of ChaCha every night, and on average I make anywhere from $40-$70 a night depending on how much time I have. I usually average about $12 an hour.

Don't hate on ChaCha unless you know what you are talking about, this is not just another "make money online" scheme, this is a legit job.

Seriously, grow up, and do some research before you starting talking bad about something you obviously know nothing about!

^^^^ Lol " is because of their knowledge base", not there knowledge base. Also, its not because of english language skills, otherwise they would start by taking on "english" people.

A pal of mine make good money on ChaCha

I've made over 1300$ with chacha I've been with them for 3-6 months.

Why are you hyping chacha up so badly for?

"Don't like your guide? Give her a poor review and switch to another with a single click. "I want the bad ones stripped of their ranking," Jones says. Culling notwithstanding, he expects to have 300,000 guides by June - as well as 1 million consistent users."

"Jones says callers will be on hold for 15 to 30 seconds waiting for their results, making that a great time to throw targeted voice ads at them. Toss in the ads that online searchers see, and Jones thinks he can make $12 million next year, while paying his guides no more than 20 percent of revenue."

"The truth isn’t pretty so apparently ChaCha decided to promote lies to get guides to join their network. It has been noted already that there are a very large amount of guides that get into the system and simply quit after a few searches. You have to wonder how many of these people read these articles and thought that they were going to be making some serious money with Chacha. The inactive guides scattered all over the Underground are still sitting there as active with little to no searches. Most haven’t done any in months which says a lot about the live guide experience. ChaCha isn’t what they say they are, and they promote lies on their very own sites to con guides into working for them just so that they can create inflated guide numbers. "

Thank you to the good people at Bored Reader for preserving this quote for posterity before it was purged:

' It only costs $2 to transfer the money from your
page on the ChaCha underground to the card.

    That $2 isn’t for our profit, that’s just a
transaction fee, like using the ATM.
    '

    From the Live Guide Agreement:

'ChaCha anticipates that the payment processing fee will be $2.00 (half of which shall be paid to the financial institution and the other half shall be paid to ChaCha), and this amount is subject to change at any time, in ChaCha’s sole discretion.'

As you can see a bit of misinformation seems to make everything alright as usual by ChaCha and its employees. If you were to contact the First Bank of Indiana they would tell you flat out that they do NOT charge ChaCha to make this transaction.

"Okay, tried it out and turned out to be a crock of crap! They ask you to do 15 searches to be graded... then u get an email saying that they need you to complete more b/c it wasn't enough to really grade. ? . Well, just for the hell of it, I did, then I sent the question of am I getting paid in any way for all the ones I've done... got an email back saying they're sorry and I didn't meet the "requirements" BUT if I'd like to, I can keep doing the searches for practice and if they saw that I got better, they would "hire" me back. ? . The scam is getting everyone to keep doing the searches for free thinking they might get paid! Whatever."

That "PM" you posted is fraud, you changed the text.

Why are you being so ignorant? Plenty of people are supporting themselves through ChaCha, no one complains.

Also, the "legal battles" were over the controversy of their pay rate change, they decided to REWARD the quality guides with double the pay, the people who took advantage of ChaCha and were providing low quality answers just to get to the next one to make more money ended up getting their pay cut in half, which caused the so-called "legal battles".

Plus, if you are going to try to use articles against ChaCha at least use some reputable sources. Just because someone was disgruntled that they had a pay cut for not doing their job and blogged about does it make it reputable.

Like I said before, you obviously have no experience with ChaCha and do not understand how it works, so how about you do some research before you post this sort of crap again kid?
