I think it's time I actually WORK on the site and promote it! I know it's against the TOS to say how much your eCPM is, so I won't disclose it. I'm receiving roughly 1,100 page views on weekends and 2,000 on weekdays. My goal is to get upwards of 10k-15k impression per day. With the eCPM keeping steady as it is, getting 10x more traffic should generate 10x more revenue, right? So my question is this... how do I promote the site? What is the most important tool to increase traffic? I worry about using Adwords for the fear of having to pay some huge amount. I have no pagerank and hardly any, if any at all, search engine optimization. Sorry if this should have been in another forum, first post here . ~Nick
3-4 isnt very good. 10x traffic will probably get you a even higher eCPM since your traffic will be of better quality (more traffic = better quality). Google pays bigger advertisers more for their quality traffic (atleast whats what I'm noticing comparing my general sites).
After reading a lot of comments here, I thought that $0.8-$1 was average? Guess I was wrong. Still not bad for not touching the site though, in my opinion.
For example, your site is about Home Improvement, search Google for Home Improvement sites and contact the webmasters of top raking sites and request a link exchange to them. Some sites on the other hand allows you to just add your link on their link pages/resources. This is a good way to increase your traffic. Make sure you add your site URL on your signature in forums. I noticed you didn't do that. Oh well, guess you're afraid someone might report you for revealing your eCPM.
I'm seeing averages between $15 and $25 3-4 isn't bad, but it depends on your market I guess... what's the ad placement like? Is the CTR high? (Personally, I'd say anything over 4% is good)...
I changed the ad placements on the page last month and revenue has nearly tripled. There's one leaderboard at the top, and then a link unit in the area most looked at... Kind of hard to explain. Is it really possible to get reported for this? I have not said what my eCPM is, only what it's close to. I guess it doesn't really work that way haha.
If I was G I would problem just catalog these minor infractions then if I needed to purge publishers for PR reasons I could simple cancel 1,000's of accounts at once.
You didn't state the exact number so you should be fine - besides, I doubt they're gonna go out of their way to chase you down.
I'd rather not take the risk. I've been with adsense for about two years now and would prefer to not get banned .
No, often it doesn't. Because you'll find out that most people will be returning visitors and they are slowly becoming ads blind and click less on the ads. The more your site grows in the long term, the more returning visitors, so don't count yourself rich by multiplying your potential revenue with 10; might work for a short time, but certainly not for a long time. It doesn't mean you can still make good money though.
I'd beg to differ. I'm seeing increases in CPM with more traffic. Mostly because that over time my website is better and better targeted in SEs => they send me relevant traffic which I sell back. I'd say that 10x traffic => (10+y) x money. Where y is a number determined by smart pricing. Sure, it might not work with your standard worthless article site, duped, and spread all over the net. But with a real service / original content.
would sending unique traffic from a traffic service work for this guy? As long as the traffic was all unique, wouldn't it help?
Thank you for at least looking at my question. So far I've only been reminded how much better everyone else is then me haha.
sending "traffic" kinda means it's crap traffic. buying traffic from adwords etc might perhaps work, but it'd require a much higher cpm to be efficient.
