I noticed this story on Digg and found it very interesting because i have personally tried this and done this before by first reading PhotoShop tutorials. Only this method takes so much time out of your hands.

If i only knew about this before :)

You know these image reflections effects you see? like below..

This can be done by using Javascript and the file is under 5kb, so it's light in size as well.

Check out this website for further explanations and to download the script.

And there some plug-ins available as well:

WP Wet Floor - Wordpress Plugin
Avatar/Image Reflection Effect - vBulletin Modification

    Have fun

That's great mate! that's kind of what iWeb (Mac application) does automatically. But I think I'll stick to photoshop for my reflections seeing as so many people have javascript disabled.
PS: I might make a tutorial later on how to make these reflections in photoshop. It trully is a great effect.

The ease of use seems nice with the script, but I too will stick to Photoshop.

yeh seems much harder than doing it in photoshop when all your do is make a layer mask and gradient it. Takes to secs and you fine tune it to the way you want not just the way they set it up ( unless you have knowledge of javascript)

Of course using this method doesn't create "correct" reflections... that green piece looks like it's floating in the air :p

:D That´s because it is placed off-set to the light blue cone.
You can also play with the way it reflects by adjusting the variables if i am correct.

I knew why, I'm just saying that simply flipping the image upside down doesn't work in all cases as I pointed out :) In this case the only way to make a correct reflection is good ol' fashion Photoshoppin'
