I work on a web hosting site. It's new, just launched. We offer an affiliate program, but currently don't have anyone actually using it. What do we need to do to get people interested in doing this? It seems like such an easy way to make $$$ I don't know why more people aren't going for it!

these days people get mentors, guys that have been studying, all the the trial and frustrated errors over the years. starting on your own and not having a coach is a lot of time wasted, just do what im doing.. or good luck..

uriah I think Susan is saying she is a MERCHANT with her own affiliate program, not an affiliate trying to find out how to get started.

Susan, tons of affiliates do affiliate marketing, but it's not necessarily easy and in your particular market, web hosting, it's ESPECIALLY competitive.

I don't know what commission you are offering but there are tons of well known, big name hosting affiliate programs offering $100 per sale and up.

Plus with affiliate programs, just like with web sites, you can't just launch and hope they'll come. Growing an affiliate program takes lots of work and proactive recruiting.

Google "Merchant & Affiliate Manager Discussions" and click the top result and you'll get lots of tips about affiliate recruiting and about how to build a successful affiliate program.

Hope this helps and best of luck!
