Register a domain at a registar like www.godaddy.com

Get hosting for your site at a hosting company like www.hostgator.com

Change name servers at your register (godaddy) to match your hosting companies.

Sounds like what you need to do is change your name servers though. Your hosting company proviedes you with the info and it should be something like:

    ns1.hostingcompany.com
    ns2.hostingcompany.com

You will take those 2 name servers and change them to where ever you bought the domain at.

when u host a website the provider gives you DNS (domain name servers ) usely they look like this NS1.blablabla.net Ns2.blablablab.net, go to where you did register the domain name , look for DNS in your control panel change the DNS to them 2 you got from the hosting provider

if you did give more detaill about where you are hosting and where is your domain name you could get help more deeper

Look at installing something like CMS Made Simple.
    http://www.cmsmadesimple.org/

It's a nice program that will sit on your server that will allow you to enter text just like you would with any other document, and have it appear automatically on your site.

Most hosting companies are very helpful with this type of info. Try calling godaddy customer service and ask their advice. Its free!!
