Making a mobile (mobi) website: info?

    Well Google wasn't too helpful, most results are commercial ones, maybe this is a niche that needs to be filled!

    Well, years ago this may have been useful:

    But not anymore, with wifi, GPRS, EDGE & the advanced mobile browsers around today, handhelds can be used to browse almost as well as desktops.

    Here are somethings I can think of:
    • Keep the page resolution flexible. (Changes according to browser's resolution)
    • Avoid 3rd party media & plugins
    • Avoid client-side scripting
    • Format & align everything precisely.
    • Use alt tags as images can take a while to load on traditional GPRS connections

    How would you monetize a mobile site? Adsense text ads? I've never even browsed with my razr. I'm thinking of a gallery of downsized pics...and while the picture loads there is a tempting link waiting above or below.
