Making a game site with database? Pleas help

Hello I plan on making a game site kinda with the concept of gamespot or ign with a site that covers numerous games. But I am wondering how sites like gamespot and ign do it? Do they have a script were they just go to whatever their admin control is and just add a game with description like Game Site Script. Or do they actually design each page for each game 1 by 1? I really need to know the fastest and easiest way to constantly add content to my site. Thanks to anyone that can be of some help.

they probably have a Database running website, such as the database MySQL-
while having an admin panel to add info to their different games and such.
while they also have lesser knowledge of code and pasting different images...that would be my biggest bet, unfortunately I cant help you with that, but I suggest someone who knows PHP/SQL coding to code those functions ;)

Fast & Easy - you will want to use a script.
PHP/SQL would be your best best. there are a few various game site scripts out there.
If you intend to purchase a script be sure to view a demo first.

They almost certainly have a CMS system in place to manage it all. Editors will no doubt just provide the story(s) in plain text or something and have it pasted directly in - I really really doubt they will have been taught how to use HTML etc (not saying they wont know this already or couldn't learn it - just its best to leave the journalists to what they do best, and the techies to what they do best)

I don't think fisher42uk read the thread. He wants a gaming news / reviews / previews etc site.

Perhaps contact 1up about it? (They are nicer then Gamespot!)

Pretty much any CMS will probably be fine for it. You wont need a specific "gaming" CMS as there isn't really anything specific there (as far as I know anyway) - it just seems to be articles and text etc. You might be able to get some plugins for Joomla etc that will allow you to easily add in galleries and things.
