I want to make some directories and i am not sure how to go about it. I have done a little research and have come up with this: http://www.cplinks.com/demo/cplinks/index.html Is this a good script to use or are there any better ones. Can anyone point me in the right direction please.
I've never heard of this site. I use www.phplinkdirectory.com and it seems to do the trick for me. Also, you'll find it easier getting support for phpld because so many people use it.
http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/ is the most popular one as I see. Both of the directories on my signature use PHPLD. You could either get the free version or get the paid one for $25 only.. Let me know if you need more help (like want me to install it for you)
I have read some threads here discussing on what's the best directory script. And the result goes to either PHPLinkDirectory and another one that I've already forgotten(LOL). You may find that by doing some searching on this forum. peicom
10 hours a week reviewing sites is more than plenty Then again you have to work on the actual site... so 15 hours a week will work fine.
when u can get same quality Link Dir script ie. phplinkdirectory then why pay for it. You can instead work on creating a better directory on phplinkdir. build better pr by buying links and more
Creating an effective search feature in your directory is the hard part, I can't get mine to work so I'm re-doing my site completely, this time without wordpress. I'm going for a custom build, it's going to take a lot of effort. ): but with the domain name I have, it has to be done lol.
How do you get people to submit to your directories? You ping all the submission services or what? I built a site with a different original idea but the most accurate classification would be - business directory. I am also thinking of making the script open source so others could use it. If you google BUSINESSPOPS (one word) you will see it and your feedback will be welcome. There are some more details in Directories > Solicitations & Announcements forum section.
