Makeup Website

    My mate wants to start up her own site, she is a makeup artists, but wants to start from scratch in order to build her clientel.. what's the best way? without going over board and buying a website without having the build social network

    ideas guys please.. and any interesting links to things she mite need to read of take note of..

    She could use the social media available, facebook, twitter etc. These are all great ways for her to tell her contacts what she does.

    A website would be ideal as she could give out business cards, leaflets etc with the website address. An optimised site would ensure people find her business on Google too.

    A website doesn't have to cost a lot of money. Get in touch if you want a realistic quote.

    She could put up a really nice looking website using joomla, drupal or wordpress. Wordpress is probably the easiest for a beginner to use -and it's not just for blogs anymore.
    Then videos on youtube - I know that there are makeup video series that have a huge following (look up makeup tutorials on youtube , and things like 'makeup like Lady Gaga' etc - these videos get hits in the hundreds of thousands)- this means it is a competitive field and it won't happen overnight, but there's an interest in it, so it's up to her to carve out her niche
