So I'm thinking of making a new site targeting a bunch of long tail keywords for starters then hopefully tackle a few tougher ones. These keywords are all fairly similar so I was wondering, what would I be better off doing? 1) Use one page and just varying the anchor text for all the different long tail keywords so that when I do get around to going for the tougher keywords i've already got a bunch of links to my main page and hopefully since I'm focusing on this one page it will be easier to rank for the harder keywords. 2) Create a different page for each keyword so I can have my title and file name as the exact keyword. This might make it easier to rank for each individual keyword (i'm not sure) but then on my main page where I'm going for the tougher keywords I don't have the benefit of all these other links. Right now I'm leaning toward the first option but I'm not sure what would be better.
It depends on what is your goal. Of course adding more unique contents will help you in search engine but if your goal is to get particular page to rank well, then all you need is to concentrate on link building. Make sure you optimize well onsite SEO for that particular page. Get more backlinks with anchored keyword and it will certainly helping you to rank well in SERP. Go ahead with your long tail keyword, but make sure don't go for highly competitive keywords. Try to avoid keywords with high monthly average search with high number of search results.
