@leetsooc: There are some great things about this design. I really like the upper right point box, it is great. I also like the uniqueness of the design as a whole. I'm glad you are rethinking the site.

I'm not sure that the background is working perfectly however. The small text (post your idea and "gender" "age") feels a little tough to read. I'm also not sure about the bumpy design on the top, it feels a little feminine. A different transition to the top menu would be great, and maybe it shouldn't be so white up there? You're definitely onto something though, and I look forward to the rest of your design.

Quick design. Wanted to get the basics presented and a bit of c/c before fine tuning some specifics.

 

Hi all-

I am awaiting some last minute submissions prior to closing the contest. In the meantime, I will provide feedback on current submissions... if you are going to refine it and resubmit let me know so I wait until you have posted!

@leetsooc: Both of your point boses are my favorites thus far. Although the lower right point box should say points instead of having the thumbs up sign. The top bar is really appealing visually, but I am afraid that the blue bar part of it being so small and being shifted right will make it less usable/obvious to consumers. I think the background should be consistent... either all white or a design/pattern instead of half and half. I also like some of the other progress bars better, such as @hpaul2.

@hpaul2: Everything on the left half looks great, but I'd like to see your features on the right half more separated/distinguished from the background somehow. It would also be great if they were unique from my original.

@vinpkl: I think the look and feel is throwing me off a bit, although I like your submission as a whole. The colors and playfulness are great, but I think it may be too much here. A more professional/sleek/simple look would be good. A different background and a different color gradient for the top bars may be enough to make the difference. I think the Skype colors would work well with your design. Also a scroll bar in the top matches section needs to be added since you have a bottom to this section. Something more similar to @leetsooc's entry for the point and badges boxes, that still fits in with your design, would be good.

@bnairb: The colors are much better now. It would be great to see a bit more of redesign in the box elements throughout the page though. I also think I do prefer the gradient background you started with, instead of the wood.

@mrlegend: The look and feel is cool, but I'm not sure there is anything unique in your design (besides the invite message). I'd prefer maybe a darker blue and brighter silver, but more importantly it would be good to see the rest of the page and see unique forms of the elements on the page.

@dlightcreative: This design is much improved. I'd still like to see it feel more friendship like though (while maintaining its professional nature). Some more color, or some font variety, or a more fun background could help.

@natali77: I still think that the content/middle background would be better if it were opaque instead of translucent/see through. The colors are great but I wish I was seeing more variety in the way you present the point boxes and quick search box.

@piggy: It's a cool design, but the top bar feels too small and insignificant, with the logo too big. The shades of tan also feel too similar... I like the idea, but maybe use a blue color or vary the colors a little bit? I like the arrows all around, that's a cool theme. It also feels like its a little more crowded than the other designs, maybe because the boxes get so close to touching.

 

I work on-call, and a local company's server has just gone under. Won't be able to redesign before the contest ends. Good luck to every one else!

@sparkle92: Great submission. It would be great to see it without the pattern in the orange box and let's simplify the Sara's home area... the 95% complete can go in the actual status bar, click here to edit can be smaller (and to the right of the status bar?), with the you have 3 invites less bright/big and a little more blended in with the rest of the design... maybe put it as text below. Other than that the shadow on the text in the top bar makes it tough to read, and the ItsPlatonic logo feels like it doesn't quite fit in. Also more of a plain background would be better maybe? Or a different design?
