photoshop... here you can have an unlimited effects you can do.. but there's a lot of graphics editing software now like quark, indesign etc... usually use in advertising company...
Yes, "use photoshop" with Fireworks now, you can get all the PS effects. use fireworks, or get someone to do it for you. I have a few copies of the newest CS3 suite, so if anyone is intereseted, PM me, and no...it won't cost.
I would use illustrator personally! It is harder to get used to but saves a lot of hassle once it is designed for resizing and quality issues. I am not sure how you use Dreamweaver to make a logo though?
Make it in Illustrator or any vector program. Vector art can be re-sized infinitely without any loss in quality. You could make it in Photoshop if you are only going to use it for the web, but if you ever decide to use it for any other application in the future you will be glad that you started with vector. Also, just so you know, Dreamweaver should never be used for logo creation. It is for creating websites, not logos. Same with Quark and Indesign, these two are used for page layout ie. magazines and books. They should not be used for logo creation.
how about make a try with GIMP? It was Open Source Software.. But, tutorial for GIMP was not as many as Photoshop Tutorial. Keep trying and make tutorials for GIMP. Then, maybe you will be famous among GIMP's fan..
Photoshop. Illustrator if you plan to enlarge later. But for standard Photoshop. You can also do vector in Photoshop its just that Illustrator is designed for that.
I would use illustrator but if you need to do something special for a picture edit it in Photoshop first then put it into illustrator.
I can make vector's in photoshop, so I would go with photoshop, I prefer it much over illustrator. More tutorials on the web for photoshop to.
To create an actual logo, I'd suggest using Illustrator. That way, you can create it professionally, and have it easily resizeable whenever you need it. As for the Photoshop, and other uses, those programs are meant for you to USE the logo in. If you understand that.
