The paid to use idea won't happen. The Link Sales section being invisible to bots may not be a bad idea. More people might give out the URLS and we may see less of the ''PM URL'' posts- not a great reduction, but a reduction all the same.
are you in google was it a joke ya, i know, it is better if it dose not happens! waiting for some mods to step in, with there comments
There are quite a few who are present here Most might have names which would never arouse any kind of suspicion amongst the members..
whatever google does on this matter has to be scalable, so just targetting link sellers on forums isn't the solution
That's a nice idea. But I don't think they wouldn't mind spending a few seconds to register and catch a bunch of link sellers and buyer. (if they really want to catch them) --Joe
well if an employeee of said companies are in our midst..what if they are selling links?? so somehow I don't think much of a problem there..someone correct me if i'm wrong please. Ok i haven't bought or sold anything yet,but I plan to at some point, and from what i've read i will probably be buying and selling links myself. (disclaimer:yadaa yada yada) It;s funny i was thinking of this issue last night. With all the talk about google banning selling of links, there seems an aweful lot of it happening here. This has my support. So long as current members have access.. keep it free..
we are worried about there bots! in person it is not really possible to check everyone, and they won't do that way. only if the bot reports, then there will be some penalties, i guess stopping the google and other bots will sure helps a lot!
Seems like a sensible idea -- we really don't know where the current Google against Link Sellers issue will lead so it's wise to start taking precautions now.
sorry you posted that before! but then a sub forum inside the underground forum for buy sell links may be good, get the nofollow attribute with it, and stop the bots! this idea will not help the forum rankings but then it will sure help it's members!
I have a suggestion. Split the buy sell forum. Normal sales in the open,...link sales in The underground>Link exchange, link sales, proxy sites. You get the idea? No bots allowed. In the hidden buy sell sub forum..strict rules like links must listed etc maybe create a special thread for thankyou's...and after the thread gets too long the thread is deleted and started again.. I haven't read this entire thread.. Btw,hi Q!! I'm going to give you a green rep becuase i know you from occultforums! (I'm arcanus mysticus spiritus) take care, arc
vBulletin allows the BST forum itself to converted to a members only place much like the underground. So leaving it there would certainly keep the current flow and scheme of Digital Point in tact. Another point of interest, which may help people go for this, if BST is made 'members only' it can also be made where posts are NOT counted. That would make it so that post count does not increase for those selling sig links, by making it so that only the posts which count (posts bots can see) will effect the sales. Currently I'm unsure if The Underground has that option toggled.
I'm still there, but can now be found on OccultCorpus most of the time... And it is good to see you here as well
This is a wonderful idea, keep the bots out of the BST area's. Any word from shawn on this idea? (didn't read the full thread)
just because of you I had to read the whole thread...lol no...shawn didn't say anything in the thread...
I'm still there, but can now be found on OccultCorpus most of the time... And it is good to see you here as well
awesome I'll mosey on over and sign up.. and to keep this on topic,..your suggest above i agree with totally. PS: becuase i'm not allowed to post live links i had to edit the link in the quote . bugger now it won't quote properly..ahh well..
It's apparent that the backlinks have updated, and it's a sure thing that the PR is now starting it's update. There is also speculative evidence that the PR of Digital Point is going down (thread). With that, I thought I would give this idea a final push. If they are going to start knocking against paid links, and those that offer them (the B/S/T forum), then I feel that it is in our best interest to make that part of the site members only.
So...where do I sign the petition at?...i'm ready to sign up...i think this is still an excellent idea
