checked my backlinks using www.mysite. com and just mysite. com and I have different backlinks to each and not one backlink goes to both versions.

Do you keep this in mind when making backlinks

Is there the same amount of juice for both.

Is there any diffetence between the two

you should be using only one url version, either with www or without www. now that you have links to both, you can do a 301 redirect from non-www to the www version and build any future backlinks to the www version.

One is not better than the other? the whole concept confuses me. I thought they where the same destination. and www or not in the backlink would be linking to the same page would it not? it makes sense though and I will stick to one url for links. thanks for info

You should use one domain, As per google www and non-www both are two sites. You should redirect for a single domain www or non-www. This is technically called 301 redirect. This is a canonical issue. For this time google will consider all pages are duplicate pages. So you must redirect this.
