Here's a trick that some people aren't aware of. It allows you to create an instant ebook in less than a few seconds as long as you have a word document with the writing in it of how you want it to look. Here's what you do. Write up your ebook in Word and make it look just like the way you want your ebook to look (title, pictures, text -- everything). Then go to file: print. Then on that pop-up, click on a button in the bottom left that says "PDF." This should create a drop down menu. The first option should say "Save as PDF." Select that, and poof! You have an instant PDF ebook. I know that this works in Word for Mac users -- it might work for PC users as well. Now this is obviously a very quick and easy way to make an instant ebook for free. I think it's a great way for shorter or simpler ebooks. If you want a very fancy one, this might not be the best (although I imagine that you could still make it look very professional). I actually use a professional version of Acrobat to make ebooks, but it's a lot harder than this.[] If anyone knows that this works on the PC too, please make a quick post saying so. Brian
not seeing it in office word 2003. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/marketplace/EM101081541033.aspx did find that. not free unfortunately.
Take a look at http://www.openoffice.org/. It is basically a Word (and office) clone that has an Export to PDF feature.
Mac version of openoffice: http://www.neooffice.org/ I have been using this program for awhile and it works great!
