I don't enter the politics and religion section because it has a permanent ban, which could be done by a mistaken post too :p

So i just went there and well, every religious threads turns into a hatred thread and mods close it.

So why not make a rule to stop religious debates?

Keep the forum, allow posting religious threads, but stop threads like "Why i believe there is no god!", "why i believe muhammed is not a prophet", "Who here thinks God exists?", "Why do i worship paper-cups?", etc...
Because they always turn into fights and the mods close it.

Why not just make sure no one makes threads like that? If you have religious info which you want others to know, its fine. If you are making a thread which you know can turn into a messed up thread, don't post it.

Shawn, can you do anything abt it?

The Politics & Religion section was made for the sole purpose of keeping it out of General Chat. Which means now you only have to read all that crap if you WANT to (ie. you go in there).

You have a point. But when someone looks at a threads against their religion, they wanna go out there and tell them to accept the fact that there are more than 1 religion in the world. Which i cant do bcz it'll just get me banned :p

So why not just stop it?

    And wow, quick reply :p

religion has and always will be a topic for the ages.
in other words, people will always discuss it and there is nothing really that can be done to stop it.

if you find something that offends you, speak up or shut up.

Religion is a hot debate. You can't ban it.

Like it or not (I'm the latter), it's still part of everyday life.

Like Shawn already said, the section was created to stop them from posting in GC. If he "stopped it" it wouldn't actually stop people from posting about it. They'd just do it in GC, offending even more people and making a bigger mess to clean up -- at least now it's isolated.

That's the point, and why there's a specific forum for it to keep it away from everyone else. If you don't want to see religious discussions and debates, the solution is simple - stay out of P&R.
