Hey all, I'm new to Digital Point but not to making money online and wanted to build a reputation (while helping people make money, of course! ). This is a simple method that can make you thousands of dollars every month... however, you will need to work initially for it. There's no such things in life as free money, and once you get good at this and have some startup capital, THEN you can go looking for the easier ways to earn online. What am I talking about? Niche websites, they are how a complete newbie can get started making his first bucks. Below I'll outline a long term, and a short term strategy. 1. Picking a domain First step is getting yourself a good domain. I prefer using Name.com for my domains (free private WHOIS) but you can also use other places like GoDaddy and 1and1. For your domain, you want something that is short, and something that people can remember. If you can get your keywords in the domain, the better, and try to go for either .COM / .NET (although if you're lacking on money get .INFO or .IN) 2. Getting Hosting You can use free hosting for this, if you know reliable ones... especially if you are doing this short term as you will not need to keep the sites on your server for long. I like using BlueChipHosting (dot com) as they have cPanel. If you have a little bit of money, go for paid hosting as it is better. If you're doing this longer term, paid hosting is a requirement. You can find something on Digital Point cheap or go with industry favourites like Hostgator and Blue Host. All you need is a basic package, this shouldn't cost you more than $10 per month. 3. Setting Up Your Site Here's the paragraph you need to sink your teeth into. What you will be doing is setting up simple, ten page niche websites, on topics of your choosing. I recommend you pick topics that people are interested in and/or topics that pay well (use a tool like Spyfu dot com to see how much keywords pay). Buyers like websites where CPC in Adsense is high. You can find good templates at a place like OSWD dot org or just Google "free HTML templates". If you have money, you can pay someone to design one that you can use on all your sites. You will also need to create a logo, with your domain name - this should not be too flashy. If you cannot create one yourself, you will be able to find someone on here for $5 or close to it. You will need to set it up with ten articles, and a privacy policy / disclaimer if you're using Adsense. There are two different mindsets for this: Short term If you are going to create the site and then sell it after 1-2 days, you want GOOD articles that are good to read and are around 400-500 words long each. Nothing longer than that is needed. Long term If you are planning to keep the site, go for quantity over quality. You should aim to make twenty articles around 250-300 words long and BORING. Of course, the content should be readable, but the more boring it is, the more likely someone will click out of your site - hopefully through your Adsense ads. If you're doing this long term, you'll have to build traffic - do basic search engine optimization, and build backlinks targeted to your keywords you're trying to rank for. You can order directory submissions, use social bookmarking, other blog comments, any way you like. 4. Selling Your Site Whether you do this long term or short term, you can sell your site to pick up additional cash. I recommend selling it on SITEPOINT as you will make more money on there. Make sure you point out all the benefits and really sell WHY buyers should purchase your site (good domain, good design, good logo, unique content of X words, high paying niche etc...) You should aim to make $50 - $100 in the sale of each website. Now let's do math. Even if you outsource everything, you get the template free so: Articles ($0.01 per word x 300 words per article x 10 articles) = $30 Logo ($5 x 1) = $5 Sitepoint fees ($10 x 1) = $10 So all you need to do is sell your website for more than $45 to make a profit. Of course, you can get discounts on content, create the logo yourself, and make a larger profit. When starting out, you should probably use Digital Point so that you can get the hang of selling as Digital Point doesn't charge money as far as I can tell. I started on Sitepoint, and I was lucky that most of my sites sold easily, but I will be using Digital Point a bit more Good luck, I hope you liked the article. Please let me know if you liked it or have any questions, if people like it I will write some more free tutorials for everyone
