How about putting up an ad on graigslist for San Diego? Let everyone in his area know what's he does for a living.

Although the DP profile shows San Diego, the whois data for several of his domains show an address in PA, not sure how accurate this is.

We should report this to www.ic3.gov and www.fraud.org, though it would help if we knew his address for sure.

Still no response from paypal at all

I just wanted to express my sympathy to those of you who caught up in this scam, you must be reeling!

I'm glad that an enquiry was as far as far as my initial interests went.

    Sorry again.

    Regards,

    Rich.

    Update:
Like everyone else here, I filed a Paypal complaint about a month ago and had been waiting and waiting for a reply. Well, I finally got a reply from Paypal yesterday and this is what they had to say:

We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your
    favor.

We were able to recover $242.45 USD and this amount has been credited to
you. Please allow five business days for this adjustment to be posted.

If you are due any additional funds, we will make our best effort to
recover the balance from the seller.

If the seller's account has insufficient funds to complete the refund owed
to you, please be assured that we will take appropriate action against the
seller's account, which may include limitation of the seller's account
    privileges.

The money has yet to show in my account but this appears to encouraging news.

Does anyone know why no funds were able to be recovered in my case (see the response I got from paypal in my post above)?

Do I have to keep waiting (it hasn't been a month for me yet since I filed the claim) and hope they contact me sometime and funds will be available?

I'm not sure what to do in this case, other than just wait...

zan23, makes no sense why they would refund some people and not others but then again, it's Paypal with their goofy policies.

I got a PM about this so am posting my reply about my experience here. Hopefully this will help some people get their money back:

I didn't do anything special when I escalated it to a claim. Initially, when you file with Paypal it will be started as a "complaint" where you and the seller are given the opportunity to settle things mutually (I think they give you 15 days for this). You should be able to post your side of the story and respond to ibold's excuses, if any. In my case, he only responded once at the very beginning then just disappeared...again. I think I added 3 or 4 comments thereafter, explaining that the guy disappeared, never responded, and never delievered product. I also made sure to link the DP discussion here for further evidence.
I think the key here is to chronicle every event or non-event with ibold with Paypal (build a case, if you will), to show Paypal, the guy is a scammer. Only after this, did I escalate it to a "claim", where Paypal decided in my favor after about 10 days.

Everybody needs/wants to earn money. I guess sometimes that fact clouds our judgement, especially when somebody else joins up just as you were considering it. I guess we have all fell for something similar at some point.

I'm pleased to announce that I got every cent back. But this is only thanks to johnhold who, a page back, advised on how to follow through the claim if Paypal didn't support the case. So I can only thank him and give iBold the two fingers.. in a diplomatic manner of course ;)

So if you did use your credit card to pay iBold via Paypal, then please follow johnhold's comments and it should work fine. As for the posts above, Paypal DID award the case in my favour, but "couldn't retrieve any funds", so I am a little confused as to how and when they decide to award refunds. Nevertheless, my credit card company were very straightforward in the matter, so I'm in the clear.

My trust has been burnt now and I will definately hold back on internet purchases from individuals on the DP forums. Such a shame, but iBold knew what he was doing from day one.

Good luck to the others who are trying to claim something back.
