Selling Major startup from Manchester: WikiPic, a image library platform (inc. technology)

    Hello,

Firstly, let me introduce myself. I am Bilawal Hameed, a 16-year old developer and entrepeneur from Manchester, United Kingdom. I am a trusted and reputable person in the industry, so be assured that this auction is legitimate and I am willing to provide any reasonable proof of verification without hassle or question.

If you own a image hosting website, image platform, cloud platform, data servers, or want to get into the technical startup business - you simply CANT miss this. It isn't a turnkey website, it is simply a hand-coded unique startup that utilizes its own technologies and requires no other APIs - giving you COMPLETE control to make a killer position in the market.

WikiPic, my most enhanced startup yet has to go on sale. It did go on sale earlier this year on Flippa, but it didn't go through due to last minute problems from the other end of the buyer (this was before it was majorly worked on).

WikiPic is an image library, which basically people upload images onto the system, and using simple algorithms WikiPic encodes it and obtains the MD5 checksums (other things which can't be revealed). This gives any minipulation and control to the image in one platform that anyone can connect to. The content is built off people who can assign content to the image via the API or platform. Whenever anyone requests the same image, we'll provide them with the same data - being sort of like a "scanning system" aswell as a library.

What is included with the purchase of WikiPic:
    - The domain, WikiPic.net + Wikified.org
    - The whole platform, encryption-free.
    - Any technologies.
    - The registered UK company identity, WikiPic Limited.
    - The simple bot created to scrape the internet for images.
    - The 75GB worth of data (not fully 75GB of images, look at optimization later on in the sale pitch) of images.
    - Signed and legalized contracts identifying all technologies and respective assets related to WikiPic to be transferred to you. Non-compete, and my complete removal in the business and any assets related or owned by WikiPic.
    - One month aftersale coding and general support.
    - Up to 2 weeks will remain hosted on our platform for assurity and time to get on your own servers (time can be extended to up a month on our own servers).
    - The beta bookmarklet that we developed.
    - All optimization techniques for the platform.

    Here's some things about WikiPic:
    - Image Hosting is built on Amazon S3 platform.
    - We optimized for images that are scanned aren't hosted, we just encode them, thus saving thousands of dollars per month.
    - Maintenance is below $100 per month right now.
    - Cheap scalability (can host up to 8 billion images at around $2k per month, meaning 800 billion would be $200k p/m - commercial opportunites are huge - not accurate, based on current costs).
    - Was opened on August 11th 2009.
    - Already gained a nice PR2 from no work at all.
    - Excellent rankings.
    - Some press was obtained, so we'll see how that goes.
    - Most of it was developed by me.
    - No admin panel is developed, is solely a simple PHP-coded (with modules) platform.
    - Is highly SEO and code optimized to give best performance (lag is only from server resources, which can be shared across a range of cloud servers - I can help you with condoning such tasks).
    - Hasn't received much press because I have been too busy with other ventures and investments. I believe WikiPic was my best startup, but I can't really keep up with it.
    - Revenue. Nothing right now, because it's not really good.

This is a serious sale. The price is respective, and I believe anyone that is wants to join the market will respect the price I have listed. I don't really expect to make profit from this auction, as all I am doing is recouping all my costs to ensure that I can at least make this startup go to someone good.

I will reveal plans to the buyer that will make this startup incredibly successful, here's some of many (plus there's many that you can think of on your own):

    - "Using the checksum matching technology, WikiPic can work with image hosting websites to identify inappropriate images and prevent them from being uploaded (Image Hosting Industry is huge!)."

    - "Image Reverse Technology - WikiPic records where the image was located, so could be a useful tool."

There's so many commercial opportunities with this heavily built startup, and with the technology on board, you're able to join the rest of the startups to make huge revenue. This can evolve into a real business with a real position. This is one of the earliest modes for the platform, and you can adjust it as much as you want - it's got it all. All it needs is some customization and enhancement to your own use of the platform, and then it is just pure money for you sitting right there.

Here's some press that we've received so far:
    http://yourhiddenpotential.co.uk/200...er-in-2-years/
    http://www.killerstartups.com/Video-...ge-web-library
    http://mhakim.web.id/main/?p=690

Respectively, I don't want to charge too much to sell this site, but I don't want to give it away for pennies either. I want to at least recoup my investment while ensuring it goes to good hands, because I would love to work with this platform sometime in the future.

I am looking for offers at least of $5,000 (can be negotiated) - it might sound ridiculous, but if you consider the type of work and effort that has been done and the uniqueness of this application I believe it is worth it. This isn't a quick sale, so I am ready to wait as long as it will take to find the right buyer. Payment will only be accepted as Bank Transfer, Escrow, or PayPal (with verified buyers). I will work with the buyer to ensure both parties are extremely safe.

I know the investment towards this purchase can be easily recouped. This startup is complete, it's just in early days and is ready to have any custom modifications the owner wants, plus I will help technical wise to implement any minor changes at the buyers desire.

If you are looking for the BIN, please pm me right now. I believe this would be one KILLER asset to any image hosting business, or a huge platform itself. It is something you need to own to make you stand out from the crowd. I will be putting it on the market sometime later this month, so now I have a couple of hours to spare I may be able to find someone a nice bargain.

By the way, the site is located at http://www.wikipic.net/

    Thankyou,
    Bilawal Hameed,
    CEO of WikiPic Limited

Quite confused as to the purpose / how the site works.

Am I right in thinking that your script can tell whether image1.jpg is the same as image2.jpg by converting it to an md5 string?

That's not the concept, but that is something that works in the site (it'll detect the image, not the name). The purpose of the site is to have a full index of images, and attach data that can be used in any instance (such as image name, image information). It is designed to publically share image information, and possibly attach information that may be of relevance (copyrighted image, adultery, where it has been found, etc).

So basically, it has everything associated with images that obviously if used properly can be of major importance to many platforms today (image hosting, games, attachments, etc).

Alongside the MD5 checksums. it uses other technology, which for obvious reasons, can't be mentioned.

The rest is simply using the technology in countless methods. Sorry about getting confused about the site, I haven't spent any money on getting it written by professionals.

Doesn't photobucket already have all these functions, plus more?

Also what are these major companies you were involved in? I was just reading your blog, and it seems that all your "startups" have pretty much, failed?

I'm interested to know, because I can see this item heading the same way.

My startups have failed? Where does it say this? You're clearly misleaded. Some startups I work with are confidential, and the ones that I have clearly mentioned have sold successfully - even one for $11k recently. I'm not majorly successful, but I believe I am successful for what I have achieved so far.

Photobucket doesn't have these functions as far as I can see, and plus, they're not commercial opportunities (even if they did). My website isn't a image hosting site, and if you understood that clearly rather than throwing a couple of ridiculously stupid questions - I wouldn't even have to answer them.

If you're interested to know that you want my projects to fail, you aren't more than a degraded entrepreneur with a hobby of critising.
