Major serp change for me...

for a site I made early last year.

I made a site on a topic of personal interests, a fairly noncompetitive keyword, early last year. It is purely unique hand generated content. Small site of about 6 pages.

I added a few links to it here and there but not that many. After a month or 2 (forget exactly) it jumped up into 100-150 google serp range and top ten in MSN. Sometime toward the end of last year it dropped out of Google completely and it floated in and out of MSN but generally stayed in the top 10 still.

As an experiment I added an ad for it with 2 different sets of anchor text at Link Vault. Gained several dozens of links slowly. No change. Nothing. Due to vaultage fluctuations (link vault close to broken...) I stopped gaining links.

So I essentially forgot about Google altogether.

Now today after about 10 months it is back at 64.

i've noticed some strange results too, lately...

there are periods when my site has 10.000+ pages indexend and after few days when i check i can only see 1000-... strange

i've also heard others who report bad indexing, hope it will be solved soon...
