Major problems with Gravatars PLEASE HELP

Okay, I cannot get GRAVATARS to work...

    I get this message:
    WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
    /public_html/publicrecordsguy/wp-content/gravatars/global
    is not writable.

Gravatar caching will be disabled until this directory is made writable.

So how do I fix this? I checked the properties via ftp and it looks writable. Please help me get this set-up on my blog. I'd happily give reputation for it if possible. Thanks.

First...delete the file from your plug ins folder.
Go to the download page of Gravatars.com here, and download the latest updated plug in, for wordpress.

Re install, and see if that helps you.

Be sure that you are installing the plug in, into your PLUG INS FOLDER, which is IN your "content" file.

It should word just fine, as long as everything else with your blog is updated and working fine.

I actually took out Grav2 and reinstalled the original plugin and it seems to work fine. Thanks for your insight also. If it acts up again, I'll try your suggestion.

I never use gravatar and I think I would never use it in one of my sister's blog sites. Too much stuff in a blog could lose the focus of your visitors. Keep things simple. Let gravatar go away. People want info only.

I disagree. I think that anything that you can do to build a sense of community will enable yout to retain long time readers, and encourage comments, especially if your blog is a "do follow" blog.

Yes, dofollow is a sweet embrace for all commenters of a blog. That's what we are always looking for. I just don't know where to find dofollow blogs. All pre-installed blogs are nofollow as default.

So is mine...just in case I am not screaming it loud enough in my sig :).
Do Follow, with gravatars, and blog feed, so that your blog post will show with your comment.
Not to mention, the new My Blog Log widget will now list your blogs when your avatar is hovered over with the mouse.
